Development of Local Employment Policy – Improvement of Disabled People Rights

From May 2023, Society Biliki implementing the project “Development of Local Employment Policy – Improvement of Disabled People Rights”.

Goal of the project: To promote the improved implementation of the Law of Georgia on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities through collaborative advocacy and participatory decision-making at a local level. The target municipalities of the project are Gori, Khashuri, and Akhaltsikhe. See the project news here:

On June 9, 2023, within the framework of the project, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between Society Biliki and the Khashuri Municipality City Hall. The memorandum envisages future cooperation between the parties within the framework of the project.

On June 15, 2023, Marine Mgebrishvili, together with the project's regional coordinator Maka Sudadze, met with Akhaltsikhe Municipality Mayor Irakli Lazarashvili and his deputy, Ruben Karapetian. After getting acquainted with the planned activities and expected results within the framework of the project, the parties participating in the meeting agreed to continue working on further cooperation.

On June 26, 2023, within the framework of the project, a memorandum of cooperation was also signed between Society Biliki and the Gori Municipality City Hall. The memorandum envisages future cooperation between the parties within the framework of the project.

The project “Development of Local Employment Policy – Improvement of Disabled People Rights” is supported by the project "Advocacy for the Implementation of the Law on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities", which is implemented by the Coalition for Independent Living in cooperation with the European Foundation and the Independent Living Center of the Hudson Valley.
