Training for School Self-Government

Within the framework of the USAID Civic Education Program, on September 4-13, 2023, in 4 municipalities of Shida Kartli (Gori, Kareli, Khashuri, Kaspi), trainings were held for the members of the civic clubs and school self-government of partner schools on the following topics:

Advocacy; Project writing and management; Effective communication; School self-government, rights, student self-government elections. The training participants identified school and community problems and developed projects to solve them, which will be supported by the civic education program and will be implemented in the first semester of the academic year. Self-government members will organize mock elections in schools on the basis of the theoretical knowledge received at the training, and the acquired practical knowledge will help them to hold democratic elections in the school. More than 250 students participated in the training.

USAID Civic Education Program is implemented by PH International with the financial support of the US Agency for International Development (USAID). The program is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. In the Shida Kartli region, the partner organization of the program is Society Biliki.
